Jakarta, Sept. 17 -- The Trade Ministry has verified 336 of 450 traditional markets proposed for revitalization assistance in 2027 by 163 district and municipal governments across Indonesia.

After a meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Thursday, Minister Budi Santoso stressed the need for selection, saying, "it is not plausible to accommodate all proposals" with the Rp1.2 trillion (US$67.6 million) budget planned for next year's market development program.

The allocation represents a substantial share of the Rp1.86 trillion in additional funds requested by the ministry for its 2027 budget, which currently stands at Rp1.56 trillion.
