Jakarta, Sept. 6 -- Trade Minister Budi Santoso urged Indonesian pet food manufacturers to enhance product competitiveness and added value to capture a larger share of the domestic market and expand global export footprints.

In a statement on Sunday, Minister Budi highlighted the vital role of local producers in ensuring domestic pet food products become the primary preference for consumers amidst strong competition from imported goods.

"The domestic market for pet food is very large, and we encourage local producers to enter this market more optimally. The Trade Ministry encourages this industry to continue to develop so that our economy can also grow," Budi stated.
