Jakarta, Oct. 9 -- Trade Minister Budi Santoso is pushing for Indonesian restaurants to expand overseas, aiming to showcase the country's cuisine while growing the reach of its domestic culinary industry.

Speaking at the Franchise and License Expo in Tangerang, Banten, on Friday, Budi said the Ministry of Trade will leverage its network of trade attaches and Indonesian Trade Promotion Centers (ITPCs) across 33 countries.

"We will assign our overseas representatives. There are 46 offices across 33 countries, and one of their tasks is to help expand Indonesian restaurants," Budi said.
