Tomorrow, Jakarta to turn off lights for 60 minutes for Ozone Day
Jakarta, Sept. 18 -- The Jakarta Provincial Government will turn off lights along several main roads and at various city landmarks on Saturday (September 19, 2026) from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. local time as a part of marking the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, or Ozone Day.
Head of the Jakarta Environment Office Dudi Gardesi said in an official statement here on Friday that the lights would be turned off at the National Monument (Monas), the Arjuna Wiwaha Statue, the Selamat Datang Statue at the Hotel Indonesia Square, the Pahlawan Statue, the Jenderal Sudirman Statue, and the Jakarta City Hall area.
