Jakarta, Oct. 4 -- Indonesia's military (TNI) unveiled a domestically developed unmanned submarine during a rehearsal for its 80th anniversary celebration at the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta on Friday.

The autonomous underwater vehicle, designated KSOT-008 and bearing the logo of state-owned shipbuilder PT PAL, was showcased alongside hundreds of other defense systems during the parade rehearsal.

"This autonomous submarine is one of the new defense systems we are showcasing," said TNI spokesperson Maj. Gen. Freddy Ardianzah.

He noted that while other assets, such as the South Korean-made T-50i trainer jet and the warship KRI Belati-622, are also part of TNI's modernization program, they will not be featured at the event...
