Jakarta, July 28 -- The Ministry of Industry has said that the ongoing reform of domestic component level (TKDN) regulations is not only aimed at products from the United States but all countries.

"It is not just about the US products; there are many other products," head of the ministry's public relations bureau, Alexandra Arri Cahyani, said on Monday.

She informed that the ministry is currently discussing a request from the US to waive the TKDN requirement for American products entering the domestic market.

"If we focus on just one country, the US, that would be discrimination," Cahyani said.

She informed that her ministry will retain the TKDN, and the finalized reforms will be announced directly by the Minister of Industry.
