Jakarta, Aug. 1 -- Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, has emphasized the important role of television as a medium for spreading educational values within society.

"As part of the creative economy, television is still considered highly relevant, especially in strengthening cultural literacy and delivering information to areas not yet reached by the Internet," she observed in a ministry written statement received here on Friday.

While attending the "63 Years of Enlightening the Nation" concert organized by state television station TVRI here on Thursday, Umar described TVRI as a symbol of resilience and adaptability that has undergone various technological changes without losing its identity.
