Task force formed to restore Sade Village on Lombok after fire
Mataram, Aug. 24 -- Officials in Indonesia's West Nusa Tenggara province have established a dedicated task force to oversee recovery efforts after a major fire devastated the historic Sade Traditional Village on Lombok Island.
The blaze, which broke out Saturday evening, destroyed 75 traditional homes, a mosque, eight thatched-roof granaries, and nearly 70 local craft shops. According to the regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), the disaster displaced approximately 320 residents across 120 families.
The task force was created following direct orders from West Nusa Tenggara Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal to coordinate relief efforts and expedite the restoration of the cultural landmark.
