Jakarta, Dec. 8 -- The Indonesian Education Ministry reported that schools in 52 districts across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra face varying levels of damage, delaying the resumption of learning after late-November floods and landslides.
In Aceh, 15 districts and cities remain closed, Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti told the House of Representatives (DPR) here Monday.
Three other areas have gradually reopened schools, while local authorities continue assessing safety and readiness for students.
In North Sumatra, two districts cannot resume classes, while two others are conducting limited learning, Mu'ti said.
Efforts focus on restoring facilities and ensuring access for students affected by infrastructure damage.
