Jakarta, Feb. 18 -- Indonesia requires about two trillion rupiah ($128 million) in social assistance funds to accelerate post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra, the Social Affairs Ministry told a parliamentary coordination meeting on Wednesday.
Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf said around 655 billion rupiah of the total requirement is already available under a special budget ceiling, with the remainder to be proposed through additional funding.
"Funds that are ready for disbursement include compensation for heirs of deceased victims, living allowances, housing content assistance and socio-economic recovery support for affected communities," he said.
