Jakarta, Sept. 14 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Monday appointed Suahasil Nazara as finance minister, replacing Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa in a cabinet reshuffle at the State Palace in Jakarta.

Suahasil becomes the third finance minister under Prabowo, who took office in October 2024. Purbaya was appointed finance minister on Sept. 8, 2025, replacing longtime Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

Suahasil's appointment was stipulated in Presidential Decree No. 97/P of 2026 concerning the dismissal and appointment of the finance minister for the remainder of the 2024-2029 term. The decree was signed by Prabowo on Sept. 14.
