Sorong, July 15 -- The Southwest Papua provincial government is collaborating with the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) to draft a contingency plan document that will serve as a comprehensive guideline for addressing social conflicts in the region.

Head of Southwest Papua's Office of Fire, Disaster Mitigation, and Public Order Enforcement, Vicente Campana Baay, said that the document is expected to help the provincial government strengthen its preparedness to mitigate social conflicts and minimize their impacts.

"Since Southwest Papua is a new province, we find it important to prepare a wide range of things, including a contingency plan document," he informed in Sorong, Southwest Papua, on Tuesday.
