Solok, West Sumatra, Sept. 22 -- The Solok-Padang highway in the Arosuka area of Solok Regency, West Sumatra, remains impassable after flash flood debris buried sections of the road on Monday night.

Solok Police Traffic Unit Chief First Inspector Akbar Kharisma Tanjung advised motorists traveling between Solok and Padang to use an alternative route via Padang Panjang while clearing operations are underway.

"Due to the flash flood debris covering the Solok-Padang road, it cannot be traversed at this moment," Tanjung said Tuesday, urging drivers not to attempt crossing the affected section.
