Jakarta, Sept. 18 -- Head of Housing Task Force Hashim S. Djojohadikusumo emphasized that social housing development not only fulfills the need for decent housing but also serves as a strategic driver of national economic growth.
He made the statement during the launch of the pre-cooperation program for Indonesia's 3 Million Homes Development initiative on Wednesday.
Djojohadikusumo noted that the program could significantly impact the economy, particularly through the construction of millions of apartment units and rural homes, which are projected to increase the national growth rate by up to 2.5 percent annually.
