Jakarta, Sept. 17 -- Indonesia's Central Jakarta Immigration Office apprehended seven foreign nationals suspected of misusing their residence permits during a joint operation at the Green Pramuka City apartment complex on Wednesday.

"Inspections were conducted to verify the validity of documents and ensure the type of immigration permit matched the activities conducted while in Indonesia," said Central Jakarta Immigration Office Chief M. Iqbal Ma'ruf.

Ma'ruf noted that officers inspected passports, travel documents, and visas across various units and common areas of the complex.

The sweep netted six men and one woman from Nigeria, India, Liberia, and Saudi Arabia.
