Jakarta, Aug. 29 -- Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Fajar Riza Ul Haq said that the school health unit (UKS) can connect schools with community health centers (puskesmas) that implement the Free Health Check-up (CKG) program.

"How we try to optimize the role of UKS, because UKS is a kind of anchor in schools that connects with puskesmas," he said in a written statement here on Saturday.

This year, he said, the CKG program for school-age children has been aimed not to stop at examinations, but to continue with follow-up treatment.

This step would integrate health checks with the education environment and support healthy living habits from an early age.
