Sidoarjo, E Java, Oct. 1 -- Indonesia's Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf on Wednesday pledged continued government support for families affected by the collapse of an Islamic boarding school in Sidoarjo, East Java, that killed four people and injured dozens.

"The Ministry of Social Affairs, in collaboration with provincial and district governments, will continue to provide shelters and logistical support to the victims' families, the students, and the surrounding community," Yusuf said during a visit to the site.

He said assistance included mattresses, food, clothing, medicine, public kitchens and clean water.

The government would also deploy psychologists to provide psychosocial support to families, he added.
