Jakarta, April 4 -- Indonesia has called on the United Nations Security Council to urgently investigate repeated attacks against UN peacekeepers in Lebanon, after three of its personnel were injured in an explosion on April 3 in El Addaiseh, southern Lebanon.

In a statement Saturday, the Foreign Ministry expressed "grave concern" over the incident, noting it was the third serious attack on Indonesian UNIFIL troops in less than a week.

"Indonesia calls on the United Nations Security Council to address this matter urgently, and on UNIFIL troop- and police-contributing countries to convene a meeting immediately to review and strengthen force protection measures," the ministry said.
