Indonesia, Oct. 14 -- The Indonesian government is restructuring its natural resource governance as part of a long-term strategy to achieve energy sovereignty and drive economic reform, a public policy expert said.

"President Prabowo is undertaking a major overhaul. He is reassessing the nation's resource wealth and reorganizing who should control it," said Adib Miftahul, a policy analyst at Syekh Yusuf Islamic University (UNIS).

Speaking at a public discussion titled "One Year of Prabowo-Gibran: Are We Energy Independent?" in South Tangerang, Banten Province, on Monday, Adib said the president is initiating a full reset of Indonesia's economic and political systems.
