Jakarta, Dec. 29 -- Indonesia's social affairs ministry said Monday it is providing millions of rupiah in cash assistance to families affected by deadly floods and landslides in Aceh and other parts of Sumatra, as authorities shift from emergency response to recovery and rebuilding.

The Ministry of Social Affairs will disburse Rp3 million (about US$178) per family to help furnish temporary and permanent housing provided by the government for disaster victims, Deputy Social Affairs Minister Agus Jabo Priyono told a press conference in Jakarta.
