Jakarta, Oct. 2 -- Indonesia's National Nutrition Agency (BGN) announced Thursday that all Nutrition Service Units (SPPG) must obtain Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification accredited by the National Accreditation Committee (KAN) to ensure proper food safety management in the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.
"We are preparing HACCP, which focuses on food safety. Certification will be handled by accredited institutions under KAN, not by BGN itself," BGN head Dadan Hindayana told reporters in Jakarta.
He said HACCP certification must be complemented by Hygiene and Sanitation Eligibility (SLHS) and halal certification.
