Jakarta, Oct. 25 -- Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono emphasized Indonesia's support for ASEAN to step up its engagement with Myanmar to resolve the country's long-running political crisis.
Speaking at the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Saturday, he stressed that the Five-Point Consensus (5PC) must remain the core reference point for addressing the situation in Myanmar, despite its limited progress so far.
The 5PC mandates include an immediate cessation of violence, provision of humanitarian assistance, and the commencement of inclusive dialogue.
