RI, Thailand expand local currency use to boost trade, investment
Jakarta, Aug. 3 -- The governments of Indonesia and Thailand agreed to strengthen cooperation in the digital economy sector, including expanding the use of local currency transactions (LCT) in trade and investment.
President Prabowo Subianto, in a joint statement with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul at the Merdeka Palace here on Monday, said the two countries are strengthening their strategic partnership in the economic, political, and security fields.
"Amid global economic transformation, Indonesia and Thailand are also committed to strengthening cooperation in the digital economy sector, including the use of local currency transactions to improve efficiency in trade and investment," Prabowo said.
