Jakarta, April 1 -- Indonesia and South Korea have agreed to elevate their bilateral ties into a Special Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, marking a new chapter in relations during President Prabowo Subianto's inaugural state visit to Seoul on Wednesday.

"I expressed my hope to elevate the special strategic partnership between Indonesia and South Korea into a more comprehensive one," President Prabowo said in his opening remarks, according to the Presidential Secretariat.

The expansion was formalized through the signing of 10 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) spanning diverse sectors.
