Jakarta, July 31 -- Indonesia and China reiterate their commitment to strengthen partnerships in energy and climate action during a meeting between Indonesia's Environment Minister Jumhur Hidayat and China's Special Envoy for Climate Change Liu Zhenmin.

The meeting took place here in Jakarta on Thursday (July 30) to follow up the commitments from Indonesian and Chinese leaderships to put environment and green cooperation as the main pillar of bilateral relations.

"Indonesia believes that environment protection is not a burden in development. It is a foundation of sustainable economic growth," Minister Hidayat said according to a statement from Environment Ministry received here on Friday.
