Jakarta, Oct. 3 -- An Indonesian lawmaker said the ratification of the revised Tourism Law marks a new era for the sustainable tourism paradigm.
"This reflects a joint response by the DPR and the government to the dynamics and needs of the community for more inclusive and sustainable tourism that provides direct benefits to local communities," said Chusnunia Chalim, Deputy Chair of Commission VII of the House of Representatives (DPR), in a statement on Thursday.
She noted that the revision introduces four new chapters covering tourism planning, destination management, integrated marketing, and the use of information and communication technology (ICT), including digitalization.
