Jakarta, Aug. 1 -- The House of Representatives (DPR) has said that clemencies and amnesties granted by President Prabowo Subianto are within his Constitutional authority and must not be viewed as an attempt to interfere in the legal process.
"We believe that President Prabowo did not intend to interfere with our law enforcers' work. The President decided to address legal and political issues within Constitutional limits," DPR Commission III chair Habiburokhman said in written remarks on Friday.
