Jakarta, May 16 -- President Prabowo Subianto on Saturday urged Indonesia's police and military to continue institutional reforms and ensure personnel do not support illegal activities, including smuggling, drugs and gambling.

Speaking in Nganjuk, East Java, Prabowo reminded members of the Indonesian National Police and Armed Forces that they were funded by taxpayers and must serve the public interest.

"TNI commander, police chief, I do not want to hear of officers failing to uphold law, justice and truth. No backing of any kind is allowed," Prabowo said during the inauguration of the Marsinah Museum and a shelter house.
