Jakarta, Feb. 20 -- President Prabowo Subianto has affirmed Indonesia's readiness to deploy at least 8,000 peacekeeping troops to Gaza, Palestine, to join the International Stabilization Force (ISF).

The statement was delivered at the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace, attended by United States President Donald Trump and other world leaders in Washington on Thursday local time.

"The achievement of this ceasefire is concrete. We commend it and therefore reaffirm our commitment to send a significant number of troops, up to 8,000 personnel or more if needed," the president said, as broadcast live on YouTube in Jakarta early Friday.
