Jakarta, Oct. 5 -- President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated 204 new Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) units, including six regional military commands (kodam), during the military's 81st anniversary ceremony in Jakarta on Monday.

"This morning, Monday, October 5, 2026, by the grace of God Almighty, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, hereby inaugurate 204 new TNI units," the president stated before sounding a siren marking the new units' official inauguration.

The 204 units comprise six kodam, 30 Territorial Development Infantry Brigades, 150 Territorial Development Infantry Battalions, and three Combat Support Battalions.

The Indonesian Navy added one Marine brigade and four Marine battalions.
