Jakarta, May 16 -- President Prabowo Subianto praised a series of agricultural innovations supporting Indonesia's goal of food self-sufficiency, noting that other countries may eventually follow Indonesia's example.

"Amid crises, Indonesia has innovative sons and daughters who never give up and are eager to seek new knowledge," the president said during a corn harvest event and the inauguration of 10 food reserve facilities built by the National Police in Tuban District, East Java, on Saturday.

The president highlighted corn cob-based briquettes and coal-derived fertilizer as sustainable alternatives that bolster food security initiatives led by the Indonesian Police.
