Jakarta, Oct. 22 -- President Prabowo Subianto stressed the need for more equitable wealth distribution, noting that Indonesia ranks seventh globally in terms of purchasing power parity (PPP), according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

"The IMF just issued a list of the world's largest economies based on purchasing power parity ... Indonesia is placed seventh globally. We are the world's seventh-largest economy. We are strong," he remarked at a national coordination meeting in Jakarta on Thursday.

The ranking measures countries by gross domestic product based on purchasing power parity, or GDP (PPP). In its October 2026 World Economic Outlook, the IMF estimated Indonesia's GDP (PPP) at 5.48 trillion international dollars.
