Jakarta, Oct. 26 -- President Prabowo Subianto has emphasized the importance of a strategic ASEAN-United States partnership to realize a peaceful, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific.

He made the remarks during the 13th ASEAN-US Summit at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Malaysia, on Sunday.

"The United States has long been, and must continue to be, a partner in growth and peace in the Indo-Pacific. As a growth partner, US engagement has helped build a stronger, more connected ASEAN," Prabowo said, according to the Presidential Secretariat statement.

The President stressed that the partnership with the US has strengthened ASEAN's integration and competitiveness.
