Jakarta, June 1 -- President Prabowo Subianto on Monday said Indonesia's economic development must be grounded in Pancasila values, with stronger downstream industries and natural resource governance playing a key role in achieving economic sovereignty.

Speaking during the 2026 Pancasila Day commemoration in Jakarta, Prabowo said Indonesia must ensure that its natural wealth delivers the greatest possible benefit to its people.

"For too long, the prices of our natural resources have been determined by others and set abroad. For too long, some of the profits from our natural resources have flowed overseas and not remained in our homeland," he said.
