Jakarta, Aug. 27 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expressed optimism Indonesia will emerge as a stronger and more self-reliant nation as he attended the 35th Congress of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in Jombang, East Java, on Thursday.

Speaking at the event, Prabowo said Indonesia is currently facing a number of major challenges, including the impact of the El Nino climate phenomenon, compounded by the country's geographical conditions as an archipelago.

Nevertheless, Indonesia's abundant natural resources and energy potential provide a strong foundation for the country's development and resurgence.

"Believe me, in the next few years, Indonesia will rise extraordinarily and no one will be able to stop us," Prabowo said.
