Jakarta, Sept. 19 -- President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to preside over the main ceremony marking the 81st anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) at the National Monument (Monas) square in Central Jakarta.

"TNI will stage a military parade and defile on October 5 at Monas, with Mr. President expected to preside over the ceremony," Head of the TNI Information Office Major General Muhammad Nas told reporters at the venue on Saturday.

He said the commemorative event would involve 51,000 personnel from various service branches and corps, who will take part in the parade and defile before the president, ministers, and senior military officers.
