Jakarta, Sept. 6 -- President Prabowo Subianto and the government are closely monitoring the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau and its potential impacts, including the spread of volcanic ash, a government official said on Sunday.

Muhammad Qodari, head of the Indonesian Government Communications Agency (Bakom RI), said authorities were monitoring developments and providing regular updates on the volcano's activity and its impacts.

"Mr. President and the government are closely monitoring developments in the activity of Mount Anak Krakatau, as well as any potential impacts," Qodari said at a press conference.
