Jakarta, Sept. 3 -- President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in finance and trade amid an increasingly fragmented world.

In his speech at the 11th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok, Russia, on Thursday, Prabowo said trade is now often used as an instrument of pressure, while global supply chains and financial systems have also been affected by rising geopolitical tensions.

"Precisely because the world is fragmented, every bridge built here in food, energy, science, logistics, and trade is a practical answer," Prabowo said, as monitored online here on Thursday.
