Jakarta, Nov. 4 -- President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday allocated Rp5 trillion (approximately US$300 million) to state-owned railway operator PT KAI to add more train sets to the KRL Commuter Line network serving the Greater Jakarta area.
The additional budget was granted in response to a report from PT KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin, who stated that the company required Rp4.8 trillion to procure new train sets to meet rising passenger demand in the Greater Jakarta region, including Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek).
