Jakarta, Oct. 22 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto welcomed South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to Jakarta on Wednesday, launching a state visit aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation between the two nations across key economic and political sectors.

The two leaders greeted each other with a warm handshake before heading to the podium for an official ceremony that began with the national anthems of South Africa and Indonesia.

Prabowo and Ramaphosa then inspected the guard of honor lined up in the Merdeka Palace courtyard. The ceremony was followed by an introduction of the delegations from both countries before moving inside for bilateral talks.
