Jakarta, Sept. 28 -- Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo revealed several music concerts held in the capital city last weekend, from Pestapora to The Weeknd, have generated an economic impact of nearly US$13.8 million (Rp250 billion).

Wibowo said the development reflects Jakarta's growing recognition as a global city.

"I received reports that the two-day Pestapora music festival and the Canadian singer, The Weeknd, concerts generated nearly Rp250 billion in economic activity in Jakarta," he said in Jakarta on Monday.

The international-scale music events also demonstrate Jakarta's growing trust as a venue for major performances. He also outlined results of his meeting with New York University during his visit to New York.
