Jakarta, Aug. 11 -- Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Anindya Bakrie stated that Peru hopes Indonesia can become a certification center and hub for the Latin America halal industry, especially Peru, so it can expand in Asian markets.

"They want Indonesia to become a center for certifying halal products and promoting it," Bakrie said in Jakarta on Monday.

Bakrie explained that Peruvian President Dina Boluarte has requested that Indonesia provided halal certification. Peru will reportedly send various products to obtain halal certification and participate in the socialization process.
