Gilimanuk, Bali, March 19 -- A female passenger was found dead aboard a bus waiting to enter Gilimanuk Port in Bali, authorities said, as Indonesia's annual holiday exodus intensified and officials urged travelers to monitor their health.
"We received a report from the bus conductor of a passenger who had fainted. When we checked, she had already died," said police commissioner I Nyoman Wiryadarma on Wednesday.
Wiryadarma, deputy head of the Gilimanuk security task force for the Ketupat Agung 2026 operation, said the passenger, identified by initial R, had been traveling to Kebumen in Central Java.
He said the woman was taken to a nearby health clinic in Gilimanuk for further examination.
