Indonesia, Sept. 14 -- The Government of Parigi Moutong District, Central Sulawesi, has extended the emergency alert status for the ongoing malaria outbreak until February 2026.

"The emergency alert status for the malaria outbreak has been extended, effective from September 2025 to February 2026, due to the persistently high number of cases," said Acting Head of the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) of Parigi Moutong, Moh Rivai, on Saturday.

According to data from the local Health Office, the number of malaria cases remains at 160 and has shown no signs of decline, prompting the local government to implement concrete measures to address the situation.
