Sentani, Papua, Aug. 7 -- The repeat gubernatorial election in Papua on Wednesday ran peacefully, with thousands of registered voters exercising their right to vote at 2,023 ballot booths across the province.

Deputy Home Minister Ribka Haluk, who monitored the repeat voting at Ballot Booth 33 of SKB field in Jayapura district, praised all parties organizing and participating in the peaceful election.

Haluk said that the gubernatorial election ran peacefully and securely thanks to synergistic collaboration among election organizers and the active participation of voters and communities.
