Jayapura, Aug. 25 -- Papua Governor Mathius D. Fakhiri said the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026) will provide vital data for shaping future development policies and mapping the province's economic potential.

"Today's data will serve as the basis for Papua's future policies. Therefore, the 2026 Economic Census is an investment in data for Papua's future," Fakhiri said here Monday.

Fakhiri said the census would identify businesses, economic structures and potential sectors that could support his vision of a smart, prosperous and harmonious Papua, known as Papua CERAH.

"The economic census is not solely BPS' responsibility. It requires all stakeholders to produce complete and accurate data reflecting conditions in Papua," he said.
