Banda Aceh, Aceh, Oct. 10 -- A total of 416 migrant workers from Indonesia's Aceh Province have been officially deployed overseas in the past two years, with most placed in Brunei, Japan, and Malaysia, according to the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (BP3MI) in Aceh.
Of the total 416 workers, 203 departed in 2022 and 213 in 2023 through government-registered and legal channels, BP3MI Aceh Head Siti Rolijah said on Thursday.
Brunei received the largest number of workers at 201, followed by Japan with 95, Malaysia with 72, and 48 workers placed in other countries. Most were male and had completed senior high school or an equivalent level of education.
