Open trip sales mission to bolster domestic travel: Tourism Ministry
Jakarta, July 25 -- Indonesia's Tourism Ministry launched a domestic tourism sales mission to strengthen the country's tourism ecosystem and encourage more Indonesians to travel locally through affordable, flexible open-trip packages.
"The initiative gives the tourism industry an opportunity to offer affordable, diverse and competitive travel products," Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana said Saturday.
The event, held in Yogyakarta on Thursday, brought together tourism businesses and prospective buyers in a business forum to expand partnerships and generate commercial transactions.
Wardhana said the program serves as a pilot project to strengthen the domestic tourism market through open-trip travel packages.
