Jakarta, Sept. 16 -- Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia urged private oil companies in Indonesia to collaborate immediately with state-owned oil enterprise Pertamina to guarantee their oil stocks amidst fuel scarcity.

"Why is it? Because it is important that sectors of industries that affect the life of the people be under the state control to ensure that everything goes well," Lahadalia stated at the Presidential Palace Complex on Monday.

He emphasized that collaboration with Pertamina is crucial, as fuel is a vital necessity that must be controlled by the state to ensure the public's needs are met.

The ministry has also assigned a special team to monitor fuel distribution nationwide, he said.
