New Zealand yacht, SAR team save eight after vessel sinks off Ambon
Ambon, July 18 -- A joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team evacuated eight crew members of the Teluk Bara motor vessel, which sank in the waters off Tanjung Alang, West Leihitu Subdistrict (Ambon Island), Maluku Tengah District, after they were found drifting at sea by a New Zealand-flagged yacht.
"The joint SAR team successfully rescued eight crew members of the motor vessel carrying construction materials after it sank in waters off Tanjung Alang," the Head of Ambon's Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), Muhamad Arafah, said in Ambon on Saturday.
